Banksia Hill Detention Centre is a maximum-security facility located on Whadjuk Noongar land in the suburb of Canning Vale, Perth, Western Australia. The centre holds sentenced and unsentenced boys and girls from all regions of Western Australia, with unsentenced young people ranging from 10 to 17 years of age.
Banksia Hill opened in October 1997 and underwent a major redevelopment from 2010 to 2012. Following this redevelopment, the Rangeview Remand Centre for young people was closed and converted into an adult prison.
