9 Hampden Road is a multi-residential apartment building in Nedlands, rising from two basement levels through ground and six upper levels, with two- and three-bedroom apartment types.
The brief
Aurum delivered the electrical and low-voltage services design and documentation:
- Site main switchboard, tenant and EV distribution boards
- Apartment load centres and solar PV
- Lighting, emergency lighting and smoke detection layouts
- Power, communications and security layouts
- Electrical design specification and lighting schedule
The challenge
Mid-rise residential in established suburbs has to meet modern expectations — EV charging, solar, good connectivity — within a compact building and a competitive construction budget.
The solution
EV and solar designed in. Dedicated EV distribution boards and a PV system form part of the base design rather than future add-ons.
Typical apartments, documented properly. Each apartment type has its own load centre schematic and layouts, keeping documentation clear for pricing and construction.
Supporting procurement. Aurum assessed electrical tenders and recommended a preferred contractor to the client.
The outcome
- Electrical design certified for building approval against NCC 2022 and the relevant Australian Standards
- Future-ready EV and solar provisions
- A clear tender process leading to a recommended electrical contractor
