Level 2 Independent Verification
The Fiona Stanley Hospital Multi‑Storey Carpark is a critical piece of public infrastructure supporting one of Western Australia’s largest and most complex health precincts. As part of the project delivery requirements, Aurum Engineering was engaged to provide Level 2 Independent Verification (IV) across the electrical building services package, ensuring the installation met all compliance, safety, and performance obligations prior to construction commencing.
Scope of Verification
Our role focused on a comprehensive technical review of the electrical services design and installation, including:
- Power distribution systems — verification of switchboards, submains, metering arrangements, and redundancy provisions.
- Lighting and lighting control — assessment of compliance with AS/NZS 1680, energy efficiency requirements, and operational suitability for a high‑use public facility.
- Emergency and exit lighting — confirmation of system coverage, circuiting, battery autonomy, and compliance with AS/NZS 2293.
- Fire and life safety interfaces — verification of electrical integration with fire detection, EWIS, smoke control, and essential services switching.
- Security Systems — review of boom gates, ticketing infrastructure, CCTV, communications pathways, and associated low‑voltage systems.
