Construction is currently underway to double the capacity of the Albermarle Kemerton operations, securing Western Australia’s position as a critical player in the global lithium industry and green energy future. The worldwide push to reduce carbon emissions and the boom in lithium storage and electric vehicle manufacturing has boosted demand for high-quality lithium and refined products from safe and reliable sources like Australia.
The expansion at Kemerton is an exciting opportunity for the State and the South West region, which will continue to deliver significant economic benefits through jobs in construction and in operations, and opportunities for local businesses.
To support its expansion workforce, Albemarle is building the $140 million Paris Grove workforce accommodation village at nearby Australind to house the construction workforce which can’t be recruited locally. Paris Grove’s high-quality amenities will be essential to attract the additional skilled workforce required, and the village is designed to help limit pressure on availability of local housing and accommodation.
